Hanna grew up in an entrepreneurial family where dinner-table conversations inevitably turned to business and family outings often included customers.  She views business and law as a natural fit, not natural enemies.  Yet when she first began practicing law she was struck by the way smart, seasoned professionals could significantly underestimate the legal consequences of their business decisions.  These observations and more than 25 years of counseling clients with forward thinking advice led to her ground breaking book: The Business Guide to Legal Literacy: What Every Manager Should Know About the Law (Jossey-Bass, 2006).

Hanna earned her undergraduate degree from Duke University, her MBA from Cornell University, and her law degree from Rutgers University School of Law -- Camden where she won awards for her advocacy skills.  She has also been on the faculty and taught at the Duke University Fuqua School of Management and the University of Virginia, Darden School of Business.
