Biography

When Patrice Kissentaner-Wilson's high school English teachers told her that she had a gift for writing, she dismissed it as sensless chatter, "teacher talk." But years later, in 2000, when a tragedy shattered her world, the unknown author penned her inner most thoughts about how she felt and how she and her two small children would recover. She journaled lifetime stories worthy of sharing with the daughters, just in case their mother also died without them ever knowing who she really was.

Four years later, after sharing that information with a childhood friend, the friend encouraged Patrice to write a book, another thought which was dismissed as impossible to accomplish. Knowing what motivated Patrice, that friend lovingly dared her to do it. And from that dare, a memoir; a love letter to her daughters, "When Water Was Free" was written and published, with only the hand of God guiding her (and her desire to "one up" her girlfriend on the dare). Within two months of its release, the title was a Dallas Morning News Best Seller. The author with no formal education, very little money and no experience or industry credentials had proven what can happen when you believe, and how important a supportive cast is in life.

Her readers comment that her stories evoke "tears until you laugh and laughter until you cry." Audiences agree,

"She is an encourager and a motivator with power, passion and purpose, no matter the topic."
"Patrice, the budding author has blossomed into an extraordinary speaker."
"Her stores inspire greatness among ordinary people."
"Patrice has survived family deaths, divorce, debt and near destruction, but each time, she rises to a new height.
"Whether in the corporate arena or speaking in a church setting, she is truly a gifted author and charismatic speaker."

Quoting Ms. Wilson, "There is no better teacher in life, than life.   I'm not sure that any college course could have ever prepared me for what life has taught me."   In 2010, she will re-release "When Water Was Free," with the launch of her two newest titles, "I Know I'm Not Crazy" and "The Church Girl Chronicles."
