Lightning and Lasers -- Lies and Legends

I'm a writer with a PhD in physics and a member of Mensa.  I've spent most of my life in class rooms and laboratories.  Lasers and Lightning were my field and my passion , and oh, the things I've seen mysteriously appear on laboratory-created holograms made on stormy nights.  Much of my work was done at the Valley Forge Center for Electromagnetic Reseach (now dust), and Valley Forge is the center of my new novel's primary action.  The farm in the book was real.  I'd love to tell you about how it inspired a dedicated scientist to write a book about ghosts.

Do I believe in ghosts?  I believe that many people do believe in them.   I know there are many things with explanations, when clearly told, are as mysterious to the ear as a great campfire ghost story.  I sincerely enjoy talking about them.

During all those years of teaching and experimentation, my weekends and spare evenings were spent writing.  I wrote for over fifty years without much thought of lecturing or publication.  Now retired, I don't have to wait for evenings or weekends in order to pursue my writing or to take opportunities to talk about my life's studies and passions.

Pulitzer Prize winner William Luce said my writing was "fascinating reading."  A university's literary magazine thought enough of my writing to publish it in their edition of prize-winning fiction.

I'm also somewhat of an expert on the history of American theatre, radio, and television.  My course, "The History of American Home Entertainment" is used in high schools here and abroad.  I took particular joy in having one of the major characters in Has-Beens live a good portion of that history on my pages (www.hasbeens-berkes.com)
